There have been dozens of verisons of this effect but Banachek (Steve Shaw, the guy who does the magic for Penn and Teller) has the best ever. The biro is left on a wine glass or on the table edge and you concentrate on it, after up to 15 seconds it moves lurches and falls to the floor. With some practice you can pace the fall to work in with your routine but this is a spooky and interesting add on effect for any psychic or mental presentation.
